Watch: Blink 182s Mark Hoppus Call Himself “Asshole”

Blink 182 bassist Mark Hoppus has recently starred in a new 5-Second Film titled Time Travel Phone. The mini-movie, which, as you may have assumed, runs for only five seconds, sees Hoppus insult his past self when his future self rings to tell himself he’s an asshole (does that make sense?).

Music Feeds often reports on wars of words between artists, but rarely, if ever, is that verbal back-and-forth between the one person. As noted on 5-Second Films’ website, the super short films are the innovation of Brian “Boss Man” Firenzi. The site states that each 5-second film allows 5 seconds of film with an additional 2 seconds added for opening titles and a further 1 second included for end titles, totalling 8 seconds.

In other Blink 182 news, the pop-punk trio has made noise that a new album should be expected sometime in 2013. Hoppus told NME that work on the band’s 8th studio album (if you count Buddha) should be completed sometime after Blink tour Australia as part of Soundwave 2013.

“We’re going to tour Australia in February with Blink… [so the] proper tour and the new album probably won’t happen for about a year,” Hoppus told NME earlier this month.

In addition to Soundwave, Blink 182 will be playing headlining shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Although Music Feeds reported that Melbourne and Brisbane sold out in a matter of hours, it does appear there are still some tickets available for Blink’s Sydney gig at Allphones Arena. If you’re still keen to see The Mark, Tom and Travis Show up close and personal, or to be more realistic, from way up in the back of the arena, then head over to Ticketek now…
