Brissy darling Tara Simmons has today revealed the video to the latest single to be released off her recent album. Titled Weekend of Hearts, you can sample the goods below.
Currently on tour with Pluto Jonze, Simmons has been gigging hard throughout the land, road testing the tracks featured on her sophomore release It’s Not Like We’re Trying to Move Mountains. Filmed in her hometown hotspot The Hangar, Weekend of Hearts is a great visual journey through the mind of Tara Simmons.
The pitch-blackness of the venue lends enormous amounts of tone and mood to the clip, with the lofty synths and playful yet demanding melodies all working together to create the atmosphere. Director Jaymis Loveday meddled with the lighting system to create a strobe effect, with the lights pulsating with the beat of the song.
Speaking of the clip, Jaymis comments, “The lighting is a multi-channel audio reactive system. It uses the audio “stems” from the track to trigger lights for each instrument – Individual drums, layers of synths – as well as vocals and backing vocals.”
The co-headlining tour with Pluto Jonze continues next Thursday in Melbourne.
