Cloud Nothings Australian Tour February 2013 – Laneway Sideshows

Cleveland Ohio’s Cloud Nothings have announced their first Australian headline tour for February 2013. Led by 22-year-old Dylan Baldi, the band will perform two small club shows in Sydney and Melbourne on the back of their appearance on the Laneway Festival 2013 lineup next year. Brisbane’s Violent Soho will join them for both shows.

In the time since his lo-fi home recordings trickled onto the Internet in 2009, Baldi has assembled a trio of bandmates, whose past experience playing rigid and expected live shows spurred the decision to mix things up. The band have come a long way: from the basement sessions all those years ago, to transforming his lo-fi DIY recordings into fully-fledged pop-punk gems.

Their latest album Attack on Memory was recorded with Steve Albini in his Electrical Audio studio. With tracks like the 9-minute epic Wasted Days and No Sentiment, which give a nod to the old days of grunge, Baldi is savvy enough to ensure his music is anthemic without being derivative. Cloud Nothings promise to bring fans a live show that is visceral and raw, energetic, angry, and unforgettable.
