Swedish House Mafia Officially Announce Sydney Show

It’s been a long time coming for the Swedish House Mafia; however, after so many years the relentless and consistent touring demands have taken their toll, forcing them to retire their beats and return to their family life and solo careers. However, before they do so, the famous dance trio have declared that they will complete One Last Tour, to thank and farewell all fans.

After infamously selling out the Milton Keynes Bowl in the UK, the Sweedes have begun to sell out venues across the world, including Sweden, South America, Dubai and many more. Yet at the time of the announcement, Australian fans were left disappointed, with the group ignoring a country that has played such an important role in their journey. However, that all changed over the past week, as several ‘Dot Spots’ began to occur across Sydney, most notably on the Sydney Opera House and at Bondi Beach.

After these sightings, excitement began to build and a farewell tour was all but confirmed over the past 24 hours, with a series of tweets alluding only to the impending announcement of a tour. And so this famous trio, who have done so much for dance music, will return to our shores for one more time to celebrate the only way they know how – in style, with 40,000 of their closest buddies. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will see them invade Sydney’s Showground Stadium, Homebush, come 2013. For fans familiar to their work, the House Mafia don’t do things by halves, and this farewell tour is no different.

Their farewell single Don’t You Worry Child will soundtrack the event, which will see tens of thousands of fans flock to their respective venues to see off these legendary artists, and is available below for your listening pleasure. After Daft Punk completed a similar event in 2007, expectations are already high; however, after their 2012 Future Music Festival performance, I’m sure that they will exceed everyone’s wildest dreams.
