Watch: Green Day New Video ‘Stray Heart’

Green Day have released the music video for their latest track Stray Heart. The lead single from the soon to be released ¡Dos!, the second installment of the punk trio’s album trilogy, Stray Heart’s clip sees a youngish flirtatious record buying gentlemen literally chasing after his stray heart.

As for life inside the band, Green Day frontman Billie Joe continues to recover in rehab after his onstage rant that occurred when Armstrong mistakenly thought Green Day’s set had been cut short at iHeart Radio Festival in Las Vegas on September 21.

As noted by Ultimate Guitar, Armstrong’s admittance into rehab led to Green Day cancelling all scheduled performances for the remainder of 2012 and early 2013. Metallica recently filled in for Green Day who were booked to headline the recent Voodoo Festival in New Orleans. During the set Metallica covered Green Day’s hit single American Idiot to pay homage to the recovering Armstrong.

As for the timing of Armstrong’s stint in rehab, bassist Mike Dirnt posted a statement on that band’s website explaining that although Green Day are in the midst of releasing three albums, the main concern is for Armstrong’s welfare.

“Obviously the timing for this isn’t ideal, but Billie Joe’s well-being is our main concern. We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank you all for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can’t wait to see you all again soon.”
