More Acts Join Rdio Artist Program

Rdio, the online music subscription service, launched its Rdio Artist Program in October 2012. Since that time the Artist Program, which financially rewards artists for attracting fans to Rdio, has gathered momentum with the addition of several more prolific acts.

Some of the latest bands and solo artists to join the Rdio Artist Program include American duo The Thievery Corporation, longstanding punk band Bad Religion, hip hop outfit Far East Movement and hardworking multifaceted Questlove.

On signing up for the Artist Program, Questlove said that Rdio allows him to share his penchant for making playlists and helping people discover new music and classic tunes.

“Everyone knows that I’m the king of the playlists when it comes to my online life. I’m ALWAYS trying to put my friends and people on to some cool songs or some classic songs they aren’t educated on. Rdio gives me the red carpet I been waiting for to lead people to my favorite Quiet Storm Classics or Drum Yums (for all the producers that beg me to point out great drum breaks) or my Sunday Clean Mix (my personal favorite song collection). My infinite music landscape has found a happy home!”

Meanwhile, local artist Muscles has also voiced his approval of Rdio. The electronica musician said the service allows him to stay up-to-date with what his friends are playing and what’s new while he is out on tour.

“Every morning I check Rdio to see what the latest songs are released, and what my friends are listening to. I sync all the new albums and tunes to my smartphone, I’m always travelling whether I’m driving or waiting for my flight at the airport, most of my day is listening to music on Rdio. I’m obsessed.”

If all this sounds like your kinda’ thing, then check out Rdio….
