Puscifer To Drop New EP ‘Donkey Punch The Night’ In Early 2013

Surely one of the hardest working people in music, Maynard James Keenan, has announced that he will be masterfully leading his project Puscifer towards the release of the forthcoming EP, expected to drop as soon as February next year.

Together with his other creative offspring Tool and A Perfect Circle, Keenan has explored just about everywhere music has to offer. Puscifer, an eclectic mix of electronic swells and intricate songwriting that is often coupled with some pretty far out visuals, is a noticeable detachment from both Tool and APC.

What can you expect from an EP titled Donkey Punch the Night? A hell of a lot apparently. The 8-tracker will feature two original tunes, as well as a series of remixes and adaptations, including Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and Accept’s Balls to the Wall, according to Loud Wire, all of which include the same culprits as the band’s previous release: 2011’s Conditions of My Parole.

Keenan justified their selection of tracks in a way only he could: “While continuing our tradition of releasing a few new songs at a time,” explained Keenan, “I also had an itch that needed scratching, and that itch was ‘Balls to the Wall.’ Which was followed by an even harder to reach itch known as ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’ And scratch them we did.”

Donkey Punch the Night will hit shelves February 19 next year. Check out the tracklisting below. The band have also very recently announced a run of Australian tour dates, which you should really check out also.
