New Daft Punk Song Leaks Online?

We doubt it; however, quite a funk tune has emerged online earlier today, claiming to be the first glimpse of the apparently impending new Daft Punk record No End, which is set for release on 13th March next year. Admittedly, the track does contain specific Daft Punk qualities: the 80s synth pop sound, looped drum machine, manipulated vocals, and the fact that it makes you feel like you’re in an episode of Miami Vice.

However, there is one fundamental flaw in this ‘leaked track’. The yet-to-be-named song allegedly features Giorgio Moroder, who told the world that he had previously recorded with the iconic French electronic pioneers, so the uploader gets full points their for citing an already known collaborator. However Moroder, who used to sport a similar look to the infamous Sexy Sax Man Sergio Flores, confessed that his vocal contribution would feature him “rapping” about his life. Negative ten points there Mr. Uploader. This track, as catchy as it is, only features a female voice saying how she was ‘born to love’.

I’ll give it to the man, the track is growing on me; however, until I actually have the Daft Punk record in hand, listening to this song, I won’t believe it. Until then it can go in the same pile as those Coachella lineups we see every week. Anyway, give it a listen and let us know if you think it’s real or not.
