Paul McCartney To Fill In For Cobain At Nirvana Reunion?

Yeah, that’s a lot to take in, right? According to The Sun, who do have a rep for getting things…twisted, the legendary Paul McCartney has been chosen to stand in Kurt Cobain’s shoes for a Nirvana reunion taking place tonight.

The news is sure to kick up some different responses in Nirvana fans, but according to the paper, Dave Grohl contacted The Beatle and requested that he join him, and bassist Krist Novoselic. This will be the first time the original members performed together for more than 20 years.

According to Paul, Grohl simply requested that he “jam with some mates”. He then joined the two in the studio, along with unofficial fourth Nirvana member Pat Smear, totally unaware of what was happening around him: “I didn’t really know who they were. They were saying how good it is to be back together. I said ‘Whoa? You guys haven’t played together for all that time?

Adding “And somebody whispered to me ‘That’s Nirvana. You’re Kurt.’ I couldn’t believe it.”

The band will be performing alongside other massive acts, including The Rolling Stones, for the 12.12.12 Hurricane Sandy benefit to be held in New York City in front of a star-studded crowd.

What do you guys think Kurt would say about this?
