Thousands In UK Register ‘Heavy Metal’ As Religion On Nation-Wide Census

The Guardian has reported that in the most recent UK census, thousands of citizens have registered the religion they actively follow as Heavy Metal. 6,242 people, to be precise, have raised their horns in the most legit way possible – by making their love for their genre official.

Even more people registered Heavy Metal than they did Satanism, with only 1,893 declaring that they follow the church of Satan.

The Jedi Knight faith seems to be losing its appeal. Following a nationwide campaign, 330,000 logged that they were one with the force, though this year around 176,632 remain true.

According to NME, a study last year shows that people who listened to heavy metal were more likely to develop depression. This came following a country-wide study of 1000 young people, showing that those who listen to music, listen to it in a negative way.

Clearly the people doing that study didn’t listen to heavy metal.
