Purple Sneakers NYE House Party is getting set to grow into its fifth year of mega party mayhem!! From its birth at the Abercrombie Hotel way back in 2005 it has rapidly grown from those humble beginnings to last year’s mammoth sized event that saw 2500 party goers fill the halls at Sydney Uni’s Manning House.
Last year’s Purple Sneakers NYE House Party sold out all three levels of Manning House and for the very first time featured international acts such as The Teenagers (FRA), Frightened Rabbit (UK) and Le Tigre DJ, JD Samson (USA). They joined Aussie acts Yves Klein Blue, Bluejuice, Teenagers In Tokyo, Sparkadia, British India, Purple Sneakers DJs and heaps more who helped ring the bells for the New Year.
As each year passes the House Party continues to evolve into a bigger and better event. This time around it’s all about creating and curating an event with a point of difference to other New Years Eve events. This Purple Sneakers NYE House Party years line up caters to indie purists just as much as it will to the more discerning party goer. We’ve already lined up more exclusive international acts than last year (three of which have never been to Australia), but before we go any further we want to know exactly which Australian acts you want to rock your New Years Eve.
Last year we ran the ‘Choose Your Own Purple Sneakers New Years Eve’ poll. It was a first for any Sydney indie party, where we gave you the public the opportunity to tell us which local Australian acts you wanted to see on stage. And now it’s happening again!

Once you’ve voted you will then be in the running to win a group VIP party pass for you and 5 of your friends to party for free, you will also meet the headliners at Purple Sneakers NYE House Party. And we’ll also give you an esky load of beer to help you get in the party spirit. Pretty sweet deal for simply telling us your favourite Australian acts.
Five runners up will also receive double passes for them and a friend to go to New Years Eve on us.
