“Krist Novoselic: “I’d Tour With David Lee Roth In A Second”

Nirvana bass player Krist Novaselic has declared that he’d love to tour with Van Halen’s David Lee-Roth or Sir Paul McCartney in a reformed outfit or completely new band.

Novaselic made the comments following the recent Nirvana and Sir Paul performances this week, which took place at the 12.12.12 fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy and on US TV show Saturday Night Live.

Sir Paul and the surviving members of Nirvana – Novalselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear – performed their collaboration track Cut Me Some Slack on both occasions.

The track is the first to be lifted from the soundtrack to Grohl’s Sound City documentary – Sound City: Reel to Reel, which comes out in March.

Hennemusic reports that The Daily Beast asked Novaselic about a full tour and whether he’d like to tour with McCartney as frontman – and he simply replied: “Absolutely I would”.

The website then also asked him a similar question about David Lee-Roth (it’s unsure as to why him in particular). Novoselic indicated that he’d do so “in a second” – provided the spark was there.

“I love David Lee Roth. I would tour with David Lee Roth because I think he’s great. And it wouldn’t be some oldies review: if we put a band together and we were making music and we felt good about it – and there was that passion and that spark – I’d do it in a second.”
