Flume’s Debut Album Reaches Gold Status – Signs US/UK Deals

The success story of 2012, Flume, has just had one hell of a week to make this year even better. Not only did his sensational debut album receive a Gold certification within Australia only 5 weeks after it was released, but the man behind the beats has signed deals in both the UK and US.

Evidently the greatest Australian underdog musical story since Silverchair, Flume has caused waves since he first came onto the scene just over twelve months ago. However, it was the release of his remix of Hermitude’s track HyperParadise that really got him the attention he deserved. Although the boy from Manly has become a staple addition to our iPods and festivals, Harley is on the verge of breaking into the UK and US market.

That goal has become even more achievable with the announcement that he has signed deals with Transgressive/Co-Op and Mom + Pop for release in the UK & US respectively. This announcement comes as yet another brick in the path to Australian music’s international success, spearheaded by the likes of Tame Impala and Gotye, closely followed by Flume himself.

No one is really too sure what the future holds for the Sydney-based beat-maker; however, one can only assume that it’s good things.
