Remember the rapper Fat Joe? Well, he’s back in the public eye, though not for too much longer as it turns out. Rolling Stone have reported that Joseph Cartagena (his legal name) has pleaded guilty to allegations of tax evasion.
As a result, Cartagena faces a potential 2-year stint in the big house. The charges date back to 2007/2008 where Fat Joe failed to pay tax on income of millions of dollars. As well as pleading guilty, Fat Joe’s lawyer has stated that the rapper will pay back all the overdue tax prior to his sentencing in April, 2013.
Ever the cool cat, when asked by the judge if he understood the charges, Joe responded “I super understand it”.
The last time we had a musical offering from Fat Joe was 2010’s The Darkside Vol. 1, though that release was followed up with the mixtape The Darkside Vol. 2 in 2011.
