Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Releases First Statement Since Entering Rehab

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has issued his first public statement since entering rehab during September last year. Armstrong’s statement has been posted as three separate images on the lead singer’s Instgram account.

In the statement Armstrong thanks his fans, friends and family for their continued support as he continues to recover from substance abuse. Armstrong also states that Green Day will get back to touring come March, although there is no word on when Australia can expect to see the pop-punk trio.

Armstrong entered rehab a few days after an onstage outburst at iHeart Radio Festival in Las Vegas. Since that time Green Day have released ¡Dos! and ¡Tré!, with ¡Uno! – the first instalment of Green Day’s album trilogy – coming out just before the band’s set at iHeart Radio Festival.
