British India Tour Diary: Late 2012

Back in August, the dudes from British India unveiled a list of tour dates that left you short of breath just reading through. Now back at home, washed and fed, the lads are ready to reveal just what it is that British India get up to while gallivanting across the country in their official Tour Diary.

It was the release of their new single I Can Make You Love Me that inspired the band to hit the road, hitting up venues all over Australia – even Tassie! The clip for the single soon followed, adding further reason to celebrate given just how difficult it must have been organise that minotaur mask…

Below you will find 7 pictures that the band have personally selected, and captioned from their recent escapades.

Airport

In October we were booked to play a show at Brisbane Casino. The opulence took us by surprise; witness four sweaty degenerates from Melbourne – over excited to see their names in ink.

Back of the Truck

Outrageous touring costs in Far North Queensland resulted in us bouncing around in the back of a giant metal death machine driven by a toothless mad man. We were worried about having enough oxygen until the back door swung open on the freeway.

Beers Burgers British India

Witness Australian marketing at its best; a disused keg spray painted black and the three most important Bs inscribed on it in chalk. If only promotion was always this easy.

Danny Green

We were at the airport and we bumped into Australian boxing legend Danny Green. After we recovered from the world’s hardest handshake, we had a long chat and Danny revealed himself as one of the nicest people we have ever met. Without avoiding painful boxing puns, he knocked us out when he showed us that he had just downloaded our new single on his phone.

Matt with the set list

Look closely and you will see the set list from our weekend in Brisbane. We played two great shows at the Zoo which incidentally is one of our favourite places to play.

Queenscliff crowd shot

This is our drummer’s point of view at the Queenscliff music festival. We recovered from prior lethargy to power through a more than respectable set. So far 207 people have tagged themselves in the photo, it would be nice to collect the whole set.

Pineapple 4X and Panadol

This picture speaks volumes on the excessive cliché rockstar lifestyle. Although we try our best to avoid such horrible stereotypes, sometimes it’s plain old unavoidable. I believe this was breakfast one morning after a show in Gladstone.
