Animal Collective Cancel NZ BDO Sideshow, Re-Schedule Sydney Date

Big Day Out 2013 champions Animal Collective have fallen victim to the sometimes unreliable international transport machine. As per an announcement from the band earlier today, AnCo have been forced to cancel their New Zealand sideshow and move the date of their Sydney sideshow.

With Big Day Out kicking into full swing very, very soon, it appears that the band’s gear has failed to show up on time, meaning they won’t be able to perform their previously confirmed sideshows, bar Melbourne. The Sydney gig will still take place at The Enmore Theatre, but it will now kick off on Thursday, 17th rather than Wednesday 16th.

Organisers have confirmed that your tickets will still be good for the new date and refunds will be available from your point of purchase should you not be able to make the new date.

Check out the statement from the band below – No hard feelings!

Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we have to move our show at The Enmore to January 17th. Our equipment’s arrival has been delayed and we will not be able to play the original date on January 16th. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause fans that were planning to come on the 16th and cannot make it to the new show. We’re aware of how rare it is for us to visit Australia and how infrequently our fans there get a chance to see us. Again, we’re very sorry, and hopefully most of you will be able to still make it to the show. We’re looking forward to playing and can’t wait to see you guys. Love, AC.
