Watch: Birds Of Tokyo’s Video For ‘Lanterns’

If you’ve been watching the Australian Open on TV this week, you would have been bombarded by promos of upcoming shows on Channel 7, namely their fan-favourite US drama Revenge.

And as a result, the chorus of Birds of Tokyo‘s new song Lanterns is slowly getting burnt into your brain. Well, here’s your chance to hear the full song, and in a better setting – with the band releasing the official video for Lanterns via their Facebook page earlier this morning.

Suprisingly, for a song called Laterns, there aren’t too many flames in the clip, nor is there a single lantern to be seen. In fact, the only bit of fiery action we see in the clip is what appears to be a piano set on fire at the beginning and end of the video.

Instead, there’s a bit of an uprising theme to the clip, with people of all shapes and sizes walking around in an inner city-esque scene. This is interspersed with shots of all the band members bashing away on their instruments, and frontman Ian Kenny mouthing the vocals. Check out the video at the bottom of the page.

Birds of Tokyo will release their new album March Fires on March 1 (fittingly). They’ll do club dates throughout the country in February and March to support the release, along with an appearance at the Breath of Life festival in Launceston.
