Exclusive Stream: Biffy Clyro Brand New Album ‘Opposites’

So I guess this would make it 9am Friday, 25th January, and just as we promised, below is the exclusive stream of the latest full-length effort from Scottish alternative rockers Biffy Clyro. Opposites won’t be available until Feb 1, so you should definitely feel special.

These are the first new jams from the trio since 2009’s Only Revolutions and it couldn’t have come any sooner. Over a career that now spans 6 studio full-length albums, Opposities is sure to go down as a stand-alone release from Biffy Clyro, whose passion and connection as a band has never been more obvious.

The ideas and theories behind Opposites are nothing to be taken lightly, says frontman Simon Neil on the album: “It was a reaction to music being so disposable these days. Music still matters to people, but often it’s just a distraction. I want our music to be a companion to people’s lives and something they’ll listen to in the future, and not just something that they’re into for a week or two until they move onto the next thing.”

As you will notice, the album has been broken up into two separate yet equal sections: part one, entitled The Sand at the Core of Our Bones, and part two being The Land at the End of Our Toes. Part One sees the band bare their mind and soul for all to see whereas part two takes a far more positive outlook.

Opposites is indeed a rollercoaster journey through the imagination of the three-headed beast that is Biffy Clyro. Check it out.
