‘Entourage’ – The Movie Gets The Go Ahead From Warner Bros

Finally, Vinnie Chase and his rag-tag comically mismatched partners in crime will be returning to the screen, though this time round it will be the big screen. Warner Bros has announced that it has given the thumbs up for production to begin on the film version of the smash hit TV series, but the Entourage movie has no release date as of yet.

Those loyal to the show will remember just how friggin’ intense the final episode was. I for one have personally lost sleep wondering if Ari Gold (baby!) will choose his dream job of running a studio or stay true to his wife and quit the biz. The plot of the full-length movie is yet to be confirmed, but it’s pretty obvious where it will be picking up from.

According to Deadline, it’s confirmed that Chase, played by Adrian Grenier, will be returning alongside Drama, E, Turtle and Ari, though it’s hardly Entourage without the back-and-forth between Gold and Lloyd, or E’s misses Sloan and her very intense father. It also wouldn’t be the same without a steady stream of real-life actors playing themselves, so we have that to look forward to also. And their new cars. That shit always rocked.

Doug Ellin, who has directed the series since its inception in 2004 (alongside EP Mark Wahlberg, whose life inspired the series) will once again be at the helm for the film. Season 8 wrapped up in 2011, so there’s a lot of people fiending their Entourage fix.

HBO series can be pretty hit or miss when they hit the big screen. Examples of both sides of that would have to be Sex and the City 1, which was good and Sex and the City 2, which sucked. But considering they are yet to make a bad episode of Entourage, we have good reason to get excited.
