ARCANE: ‘CHRONICLES OF THE WAKING DREAM’ RELEASE DETAILS

Australian progressive rock band Arcane’s new album “Chronicles Of The Waking Dream” the conceptual and enigmatic follow up to 2007’s Ashes will be distributed through Australian rock label Riot Entertainment. The album is due for release on Monday September 21st 2009. Recorded and mixed in Brisbane by Arcane and producers Jesse Higginson and Chris Neehaus, and mastered by the internationally renowned Peter Van’t Riet (Symphony X, Pain Of Salvation, O.S.I., Ayreon, Threshold) Chronicles Of The Waking Dream focuses on a complex conceptual story line, dealing in elements of pareidolia, mental disorder and perception. Two tracks from the album, “The Seer” and “The Malice” have finally seen the light of day, released on the band’s MySpace.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER RELEASE ‘DEFLORATE’

Still revelling in the wake of their ravenously received DVD spectacle Majesty, which recently spent five weeks on the BILLBOARD TOP MUSIC VIDEOS Chart, Michigan’s oddball sons of molten melodic death metal The Black Dahlia Murder return stronger than ever with their fourth thrashing opus, Deflorate. Classical-come-apocalyptic; violently energetic yet melodiously beautiful, Deflorate sees the songwriting of band leader and rhythm guitarist Brian Eschbach at its most developed and refined, exponentially complimented by contributions from both bass savant Bart Williams and newcomer guitarist/shred lord Ryan Knight (ex – Arsis), whose leads are destined to dazzle fans and take the band’s punishing potency to dramatic new heights. Multiplying the strengths of their past catalog with a reborn urgency and focus, the BDM crew forge steadily down the blackened path they laid with 2007’s stunningly dark “Nocturnal”. With pedal completely to the metal, “Deflorate” boasts the bands patented mixture of Swedish influenced thrash and black metal with blasting fury and crushing American muscle.
