Dig It Up! Festival Drops Third Line-Up Announcement – Tumbleweed, Kim Salmon & More

2013 is shaping up to be a big year for the return of Hoodoo Gurus’ touring festival, Dig It Up! – they’ve put some solid thought into the line-up, which has grown exponentially and now features the likes of Tumbleweed, Kim Salmon as well as comedians Bob Franklin and Dave O’Neil.

The Sydney leg is taking place at the Enmore Theatre and its surrounds. Stoner-fuzz crew and Dig It Up debutants Tumbleweed will be there, as will former frontman from The Scientists, Surrealists or, if you prefer, Precious Jules, Kim Salmon, who’ll be joining forces with sticks person Leanne Cowie for a 2-piece rendition of some of Scientists greatest jams.

The Frowning Clouds, born and bred in Melbourne, will also be making the trip up for what is a very rare Sydney performance, given the band’s tendency to tour Europe rather than Australia. Funny men Bruce Griffith and Ahmed Zub come in to round off the Sydney show.

Now, Melbourne, you will be getting Sydney legends and veterans from a time of better music The New Christs. Kim Salmon & Leanne Cowie will also be performing as well as The Crusaders, bringing a healthy dose of Sydney-branded fuzz. Harry Howard will be performing a Dylan-esque set of garage rock, and you’ll see even more funnymen with Dave O’Neil and Bob Franklin added to the list.
