In one fell swoop, Finnish shred-heads Children Of Bodom have revealed just about everything about their new album, now titled Halo Of Blood, bar the actual album itself – we can now scroll through the track list as we put the release date in our calendars and marvel at the album art.
Halo Of Blood, a true Children Of Bodom style name, comes hot on the heels of their 2011 album Relentless Reckless Forever, which left some pretty big shoes to fill, but as they’re now 8 full-length albums into the game COB are sure to have their melodic death metal sensibilities on lock.
The band have also released a statement on the album, which seems overwhelmingly agreeable. Containing “10 new songs of pure Nordic metal”, Halo Of Blood also has “the fastest and the slowest songs we’ve ever made and, lyrics wise, there are themes we had never had before”. And don’t fret – even though they’re up to number 8, the band “still managed to keep it fresh”.
