Chris Tucker Announces Australian Stand-Up Tour June 2013

Hollywood funnyman Chris Tucker will be making thousands of people’s sides sore when he comes to Australia for his first-ever stand up tour in June.

Tucker has announced 6 all-ages shows in theatres and arenas as part of the tour, which will take in all five main capital cities and the Gold Coast as well.

The comedian first came to prominence at 19 years of age when he was a regular on Def Comedy Jam. Since then his star has grown via key roles in several big movies – most notably his co-starring role with Jackie Chan in the Rush Hour trilogy. As fast talking Detective James Carter, Tucker helped Rush Hour smash box office records, with the trilogy earning $850 million worldwide.

Tucker recently revealed that the reason he’s been away from movie screens for so long is because he’s been dedicating his time to rediscovering his first love – stand-up comedy:

“People might not know this but I’ve been busy working. I went back to stand-up about six years ago and have been touring for the last few years in the States and now we’re taking it international.”

So, Australia, looks like it’s our turn. Tickets go on sale Friday, 5th April at 9am. Frontier Touring members can get access to a 24-hour pre-sale from 2pm on Tuesday, 2nd April.
