Watch: Lana Del Rey Flips Leonard Cohen’s ‘Chelsea Hotel #2’

Currently hard at it penning the follow-up to 2012’s Born To Die, Lana Del Rey has popped her head up from the studio to reveal a brand new track. Well, the track itself dates back to 1974, but we’re pretty sure you’ve never heard Leonard Cohen’s Chelsea Hotel #2 performed this way before.

So, from what I understand, the track isn’t named after the pub in Chatswood, Sydney but rather the New York bohemian hostelry, which resonated with Cohen enough for him to drill the track onto his 1974 album New Skin For The Old Ceremony.

The track, which came hand in hand with a snazzy little video clip, will surely tide us over until we get more updates on the new album. That release will see Del Rey cut back on some of her over-the-top antics and replace them with a far more spiritual connotation.
