The New Pollution: # 014 – Ruby Coast

Ruby Coast are a young Canadian indie-pop-rock outfit. They make good songs you should listen to before they turn mainstream and start appearing in their music videos.

The range on their latest album, Whatever This Is, is quite extensive. One minute, you’re grooving away to the upbeat glockenspiel (or xylophone, I can never tell the difference) in Dr. Acula and then you’ve suddenly dived into a pit of  ambient despair with White Moon, only to sing-along shortly after to toe-tapper Creep Me Out. If like me, you need a band to hook you pretty quickly, go to Ruby Coast’s Bandcamp and sample the whole album. Every song offers something different.

Fans of Tokyo Police Club, Youth Group, Arcade Fire and The Thrills should get into them.
