Watch: Daft Punk Release ‘Random Access Memories’ Video Featuring Producer Giorgio Moroder

Oh, Daft Punk, if this was primary school, we’d be sure you had a crush on us with all this damn teasing. This is a little nicer than having your hair pulled, though – the electronic duo have released the first in what appears to be a series of interviews with collaborators for their new record, Random Access Memories.

This one stars famed Italian producer Giorgio Moroder, the man who helped engineer some of Donna Summer‘s biggest hits, as well as writing the score for movies like Scarface and Midnight Express. Moroder talks about how he first started his legendary experimentation with synthesisers, the first time he heard Daft Punk and his thoughts on the future of music in this 8-minute interview. Check it out below.

Other guests rumoured to collaborate on the most anticipated release of the year include Pharrell Williams, Paul Williams, Panda Bear from Animal Collective, Feist collaborator Chilly Gonzales and according to The LA Times, Chic‘s Nile Rodgers.

Random Access Memories is currently available for pre-order and will be released in Australia on 17th May.
