Movement Festival Announces 2 Chainz Withdrawal, Moves Indoors

2 Chainz has been forced to cancel his performance at this year’s Movement Festival due to Visa eligibility requirements and processing timelines for Australian and New Zealand, in addition to a pending court case.

Although the official statement concerning 2 Chainz’s cancellation does not specify the details of the court case, we know that 2 Chainz was arrested for possession of marijuana and other paraphernalia by Maryland State Police on Valentine’s Day.

2 Chainz was one of the main draw cards for Movement Festival, and his cancellation is an added blow for the fledgling rap and hip hop festival, which has already lost American rapper Angel Haze due to recording commitments. Haze has been replaced by Australian-born America-based Iggy Azalea while Melbourne group Diafrix has also joined the line-up for all dates expect Perth.

All venues for Movement Festival, with the expectation of Sydney, have also changed. Melbourne moves from Myer Music Bowl to the Festival Hall. Brisbane shifted into Eatons Hill Hotel instead of The Riverstage. Perth will now take place in Metro City as opposed to Red Hill Amphitheatre while Sydney stays put at The Hordern. All Movement Festival dates have remained the same.

Remember – if you’d like to get along to the Movement Festival but are short on cash – or you’re a cheap, lucky bastard – then enter Music Feeds’ Movement Festival Wicked Cool Prize Pack giveaway that includes a double pass and a heap of other Movement-related goodies.

We’re still plenty excited about this festival, despite today’s unfortunate news, and the night still promises a fantastic array of local and international acts. See you there!
