Lifehouse Drop Out One Day Before Stone Music Festival

Leaving hundreds hangin’ on a moment, early noughties pop rockers Lifehouse have withdrawn from this weekend’s Stone Music Festival. In a statement posted to their Facebook page this afternoon, the band confirmed that they were no longer confirmed for the debut Sydney festival due to (those classic words) “circumstances beyond our control”.

The band express their deep regret at not being able to attend, apologising to fans who have spent money to see them perform and saying they are “extremely disappointed that we will not get to play for our fans on this occasion”, leaving dozens of people hangin’ on a moment for another tour announcement soon (seriously, it’s the only song of theirs we know).

Stone Music Festival was announced to a cynical reception earlier in the year but, despite early doubts and this near-deadline hiccup, the festival seems all set for a massive weekend without Lifehouse, seeing the likes of Van Halen, Billy Joel, fellow ‘house’ band Icehouse and the recently announced Aerosmith heading up an impressive roster for the fledgling festival.

Lifehouse Stone Music Festival withdrawal statement:

Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, it is with deep regret that we must announce that we will no longer be participating in this year’s Stone Music Festival, taking place this weekend in Sydney, Australia. We sincerely apologize to our fans that made plans to come see us. We had been looking forward to coming back to Australia after a long absence and we’re extremely disappointed that we will not get to play for our fans on this occasion…
