BREAKING: Kriss Kross’ Chris ‘Mac Daddy’ Kelly Found Dead

Kriss Kross member Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly has died, aged 34. Kelly’s body was found in his home in Atlanta and he was pronounced dead at 5pm at the Atlanta Medical Center. Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office investigator Betty Honey said the cause of death is currently unknown.

Kelly rose to fame in the ’90s as a member of hip hop duo Kriss Kross along with Chris “Daddy Mac” Smith. The pair are most recognised for their 1992 number 1 smash hit single Jump, with their debut album Totally Krossed Out selling 4 million copies globally.

The duo recently announced their reformation, performing at a So So Def anniversary show in Atlanta on 23rd February this year.

UPDATE: 03/05/13 CNN is reporting that authorities are investigating Kelly’s death as a possible drug overdose.

A woman identifying herself as a friend of the rapper’s told a police investigator that Kelly had taken a variety of drugs, including a mixture of heroin and cocaine, before he passed away. According to a police report, she had taken him to his home on Tuesday night “to recover from his drug use”.
