Major Chord Releases The Rabbit Hole

Major Chord (aka Dan Flynn) releases his second album, The Rabbit Hole, this Monday 7 September via Vitamin Records, and the sparkling album reviews have started coming through!

The follow up to Major Chord’s critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, The Rabbit Hole sees Dan hopping along the east coast for a series of intimate album launches during late September.

Catch Major Chord on Wednesday 23 September at The Hopetoun Hotel in Sydney supported by Jackson McLaren and Lauren Horton, Thursday 24 September at Ric’s Bar in Brisbane supported by Burl Ivers, and Sunday 27 September (afternoon performance) at Northcote Social Club in Melbourne supported by M Jack Bee.

Pardon the pun, but The Rabbit Hole has depth… it goes down, down, down into the mind and soul of its creator, and emerges through the folk-pop ramblings, double-meanings and melodic dealings of Major Chord. Combining the rawness and honesty of folk traditions with the accessibility of pop culture, Major Chord recently released the album’s first single ‘Hey, my name is Joe’ which received airplay on triple j and community radio around the country.

Major Chord emerged in 2006 from Dan’s former band sleeping pilot. He’s played a plethora of gigs around Melbourne since then and was part of this year’s Apollo Bay Music Festival line up. Major Chord also joined Old Man River on their East Coast tour in 2008 and made a special appearance at their ‘Farewell to Good Morning’ show at the Sydney Opera House. Dan is also a member of experimental folk duo Children of the Wave who last year released Carapace (Sensory Projects/Inertia) to wide critical acclaim.
