Daft Punk ‘Random Access Memories’ Bonus Track ‘Horizon’ Makes Its Way Online

There used to be a time when listening to a Japanese bonus track meant visiting your local record store and forking over some serious dough for an import, but thanks to the wonders of modern technology that’s no longer the case and now we can all enjoy Daft Punk’s new track Horizon, from the Japanese version of Random Access Memories.

Horizon is an instrumental piece that begins in simple, grounded fashion with an acoustic guitar, an experience quite dissimilar to anything else on Random Access Memories. In fact the whole track is rather subdued and quite lovely – think dream pop meets ’80s movie soundtrack with a touch of twang and that unmistakable Daft Punk warmth.

Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories was released this past Friday and is expected to be crowned the fastest selling album of all time in the UK. According to the Official UK Charts, lead single Get Lucky has already sold over 600,000 units, surpassing Justin Timberlake’s Mirror to be the second largest selling single of the year, just 20,000 units away from the top dog, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ Thrift Shop.
