Vampire Weekend’s ‘Diane Young’ Clip Features A Last Supper With Famous Guests, Saxophone Bong

With their brand-new album Modern Vampires Of The City debuting in pole position on the Billboard album charts, Vampire Weekend have earned themselves a bit of a celebration, but it take serious skill and determination to celebrate this hard. The latest video from the band single Diane Young features a last supper, plenty of shouting, a stack of famous people and a saxophone bong.

It also features bassist Chris Baio caressing an coffee machine and vocalist Ezra Koenig getting chummy with a dude in a balaclava. Yeah, Diane Young is one of those clips which is either a sweeping metaphysical statement or a whole heap of random things thrown into one, very big random thing.

Joining the Vampire Weekend boys for the dinner is Santigold, David Longstreth of the Dirty Projectors and singer, songwriter, model, and actress Sky Ferreira. Those who are paying attention will also notice cameos from fellow New York indie rockers The Walkmen and the dudes from Chromeo aren’t too pleased with how the evening has unfolded.

While it’s hard to piece together what’s going on in the below clip, it’s sure as hell fun to watch and maybe instead of reading too much into it, maybe we’ll just listen to the song (Diane Young = Dyin’ Young) and forget about the bigger picture. Let’s go get drunk and test out this saxobong idea instead. After the video.
