Kanye West Launches Into Rant And Debuts New Songs At Governors Ball

The final day of Governors Ball Music Festival held in New York City was headlined by the one and only Kanye West, who took the opportunity to rant about his up-coming album to the crowd before performing some of his new tunes just nine days from the release of Yeezus.

The audience who were gathered on Randall’s Island NYC for the festival were subjected to a another classic rant from the rapper, which you can view in full below. West dismissed the need for radio play or an expensive marketing campaign around the album, hoping instead for the music to speak for itself:

We ain’t drop no single to radio. We ain’t got no big NBA campaign or nothing like that. Shit, we ain’t even got no cover. We just made some real music.”

His setlist included a number of songs to be featured of Yeezus including Black Skinhead and New Slaves, which Kanye has already introduced to us via Saturday Night Live. Also part of the performance were two songs that are rumoured to be titled Onsite and I Am A God as well as a fifth, who’s title remains unknown.

After the initial flurry of footage posted to the mobile app Vine, two videos filmed by members of the crowd have now surfaced featuring footage of the songs I Am God and Black Skinhead. While they leave a bit to be desired on the audio and video quality side of things to they give us a good idea that Yeezus will be featuring some dance inspired production as well as heavy, anthemic tracks a la All Of The Lights.

You can take a look at the footage below. Yeezus is due for release on 18th June.
