Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ Gets The Queens Of The Stone Age Treatment

Queens Of The Stone Age would have to be the band to beat at the moment. The whole world has QOTSA fever, brought on by the release of …Like Clockwork and scores of tours all over the place and whatever doubters are left will be STFU by this following clip. While performing on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, the boys covered Robin Thicke’s chart-topper Blurred Lines and it’s straight up bad. In a good way.

Sure, it might sound a teensy bit droll and repetitive but it doesn’t take long to figure out that well, they’re kind of taking the piss. Homme stumbles his way through the words and what’s more – he’s keeping time by shaking pill bottles.

Before the keyboard warriors can get in – we do understand this isn’t a verbatim performance of Blurred Lines, but rather a reimagining of the track from Homme and friends. With his pill shaking backed by two acoustic guitars, the cover is funny and impressive and, without any production whatsoever, they nail it.

Oh, and Josh Homme looks like George Michael now. Check it.
