Producer Mike Dean Confirms ‘Watch The Throne’ Sequel, Talks “Intense” Studio Sessions With Kanye

Serial Kanye West collaborator and studio dweller Mike Dean has given some rare insight into what goes down within the closed doors on Ye’s recording sessions. In a recent interview, Dean detailed the “intense” production process that ultimately led to the creation of Yeezus, and also said that a follow-up to the hugely successful Watch The Throne is on the cards.

Speaking with HuffPost Live, Dean described his partner in crime as a “couch producer”, explaining that West employs the expertise of a team of top-tier producers, all of whom throw their two cents into the mix for each track, leaving him and Dean to pick the best options:

“”It’s sort of a checks and balances for both of us… We have a dozen people working with us in the studio, we all do quality control. It’s the most intense production project you’ll ever see… It’s so many A-List people who would never work together unless Kanye put them together.”

Even though the due date of Tuesday, 18th June is very quickly approaching, West is still meddling with his new creation but will still be committing to the deadline. Once it drops, fans shouldn’t be expecting a continuation from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but rather “a new work of art.”

However, fans can expect a continuation of West’s work with Jay-Z. Just last week Dean spoke to the other half of Watch The Throne confirming that a sequel is currently in the pipeline. Check out the full interview below.
