The Postal Service Releases Video For New Song ‘A Tattered Line Of String’

The album might be 10 years old, but The Postal Service’s one-off full-length Give Up is no less relevant today than it was in 2003. Having successfully transformed just 10 tracks into a headlining festival performance, the band have dropped two unreleased tracks, one of which, A Tattered Line Of Sting, has been given the full clip service to mark the 10th birthday milestone.

The clip is a simple, oddly calming yet still ominous exploration into what happens to the “other sock” in the washing machine, in a world where the spin cycle happens to you. The song itself may not have seen the light of day back in ’03 but it would have fit perfectly amongst the cluster of digi-pop anthems.

The clip comes just in time to flag everyone’s attention for TPS’ television debut this week. Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello and co will be taking to the stage of The Colbert Report Wednesday, 19th June though, being all the way down here, we might have to wait a few days before we can catch it.

The dynamic duo and their backing musicians are currently zig-zagging across the US for their massive headlining run before they wrap things up at Lollapalooza.
