Andrew Stockdale Revives Wolfmother After Shortest Break-Up Ever

Wolfmother have just logged what’s surely the shortest break-up ever, with the Aussie rockers getting back together for a show in Los Angeles this coming Monday a whopping 10 weeks after they played their “final show” supporting Aerosmith in Melbourne on 4th May.

Earlier in the year, frontman Andrew Stockdale called it quits to embark on a solo career, releasing his debut album Keep Moving under his own name after explaining that he was “on a different trip now” and that he wanted to be true to himself.

Though he explained that he was never going to say never to reviving the Wolfmother name, there was no indication that he would be bringing the band back together so soon. He was also happy to be referred to as “the ex-Wolfmother singer”, drawing a comparison to The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach‘s solo work outside of his band.

Stockdale had an Australian tour planned to support Keep Moving, but cancelled all but one Sydney gig just days before the first show. His upcoming US and European dates were originally solo shows but the gig at The Troubadour for this Monday is now being billed a Wolfmother show.

Hey, Stockdale, mate – we’d like to introduce you to your spirit guide, John Farnham. He can teach you everything you need to know about touring for “the last time”. Though we understand if you’ve had a change of heart after reading our guide on how to keep the band together.
