Listen To Vampire Weekend’s Cover Of Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’

Following in the footsteps of Queens Of The Stone Age, Vampire Weekend have dropped their version of Robin Thicke‘s smash hit Blurred Lines, proving that the cowbell-laden track with the controversial lyrics and video really is the Get Lucky of the season, with every musician and their dog covering the song.

The Vampire Weekend version doesn’t fall too far from the tree, although Ezra Koenig and company have added a certain sloppy charm to the disco-tinged single, changing the lyric “You the hottest bitch in this place” to “You the hottest fish in this place”. The QOTSA version is heavy on comedy too, with the band performing it live on BBC Radio 1‘s Live Lounge back in June, complete with Josh Homme using a pill bottle as a shaker.

Vampire Weekend released their third studio album Modern Vampires Of The City this year and are strongly rumoured to be headlining New Year’s Eve’s Falls Festival, with their track Unbelievers being used in a promo video for the event, which will come to Byron Bay for the first time this year.
