The 1975’s ‘Sex’ Gets An Appropriately Explicit Video

Manchester indie rock outfit The 1975 recently dropped the reworked version of their single Sex, originally released last year, and today we’ve got the first look at its explicit new video clip, which is probably what you’d expect for a song called Sex, amiright? Unless it was about biology class or something. Hint: It’s not about biology class.

The video for Sex has got all of your not-safe-for-work boxes ticked. Sex scenes? Yep. Bong hits? Sure. Acid tripping? Uh-huh. Skinny dipping? You betcha. It’s a cinematic 4-minute tale of young love in Vegas that breaks away from the quartet’s usual black-and-white aesthetic, with frontman Matt Healy telling Some Kind Of Awesome the style was absolutely a conscious choice:

“As a video, Sex feels very uncompromised, unpredictable and from a artistic viewpoint, very honest. That is always our main goal as a band. We are very proud of it.”

The 1975, who don’t actually look like any of them were around for 1975, release their debut self-titled album this September, co-produced by Arctic Monkeys collaborator Mike Crossley.
