Jake Bugg May Release Second Album This Year

UK singer-songwriter Jake Bugg has revealed that he’s almost finished with the recording of his second album and that we could even expect to hear it later this year. The Nottingham native has been working with super-producer Rick Rubin on the follow-up to his self-titled debut.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Bugg revealed that he’s not concerned about jumping the gun on his next release:

I don’t really see any harm in it. It seems like the right thing to do. Might as well keep up the momentum, you know?

“In this time that I’ve been touring and traveling the world I had a lot of new experiences and opportunity. Why not write about it?”

The 19-year-old singer-songwriter has been hot on this year’s festival circuit playing slots at T in the Park and Optimus Alive in the UK, coming Down Under for Splendour In The Grass and supporting The Rolling Stones for their Hyde Park performance.

With talk of a new album seeing release later in 2013, it’s possible that Bugg could see his way Down Under again soon. There could even be a chance we’ll see his name on the second Big Day Out announcement, given their love of snaffling popular Splendour bands, or even on the upcoming Falls Festival lineup.

While here for Splendour, Bugg found the time to grace Music Feeds Studio with his presence, playing unplugged renditions of Seen It All, Broken, Taste It and Lightning Bolt, and even finding time for a quick interview. Check out Seen It All below.
