Go Violets Unleash Latest Single ‘Wanted’ With New Video

Brisbane’s own Go Violets have returned to charm listeners with a jangly, ethereal new track titled Wanted, cementing the band’s reputation as Down Under’s answer to Best Coast. The single, released via Create/Control, comes with a psychedelic new video directed by Jeff Andersen Jr. who’s done videos for Emma Louise and others.

Go Violets’ previous singles, Teenager and Josie, showed the band’s taste for sweet vocal melodies, elegiac harmonies, poppy guitars and tights drums, resembling some of the more romantic work by The Ramones, The Byrds, Tiger Trap, and The Shangri-Las. The band’s ear for catchy melodies and their impeccable pop songsmithing has seen them open for Velociraptor, Bleeding Knees Club, and Thee Oh Sees.

Wanted‘s production was helmed by Sean Cook, who’s manned the boards for Yves Klein Blue, Big Scary and Velociraptor, with mixing completed in LA by Doug Boehm, who’s worked with Girls and The Vines, giving the track a noticeably retro, surf-rock feel. The single is the first taste fans are getting of their upcoming EP, which is understandably set for release this Spring.

The band are currently getting ready to embark on a co-headline, nationwide tour this month with Sures. In the meantime, fans can check out the video for Wanted below and see some snaps from their gig at The Zoo last year.
