Arcade Fire Reveal 15-Second Song Snippet, New Track To Air On Triple J Next Monday

After more teasing than that kid at school who pulled your hair because he liked you, Arcade Fire have now officially confirmed that they’ll be unveiling their new single on 9th September at 9pm, likely titled Reflektor, as well as giving us a snippet of new music.

The Montreal indie mega-stars have been running this campaign for a while now, telling us to expect something on 9/9 at 9pm, but we still don’t officially know if Reflektor is the name of the upcoming single or album from the outfit.

It now seems like that info will be with Australians next Monday night, with triple j‘s Richard Kingsmill tweeting that the track would be played on his station at 9:00pm AEST on 9/9.

Whether the track makes its debut in different markets simultaneously is still unknown, so it’s possible that different locations will get their first listen at 9pm 9/9 local time.

The new snippet comes by way of Spotify, with the band posting the 15 seconds of audio under the title Reflektor, with the track itself titled 9pm 9/9. The new teaser sounds almost identical to the 15 seconds worth of audio posted on the Reflektor Instagram account, which is posted below.

The band have also updated their TheReflektors website with an image of a bloody, floating headless body – now, that’s not creepy at all.

The new album from Arcade Fire is set for release on 29th October and the 8-piece will be bringing their incredible live act our way next January to headline the Big Day Out.
