New Young Pony Club Rebirthed As NYPC, Self-Titled Album Due In October

New Young Pony Club are back but New Young Pony Club are also no more, with singer Tahita Bulmer and producer Andy Spence announcing that they’re now a duo, changing their name to NYPC, and announcing their third studio album, also entitled NYPC.

The pair, who were previously a quintet, made a tonne of waves with their single Ice Cream and debut album Fantastic Playground back in 2009. They’ve clearly been lavishing a lot of attention on record number three, having commenced work on it at the beginning of 2011, with first single Hard Knocks out now.

Spence released a statement saying that the outfit’s new album is their most honest yet:

“It feels like a new band in one way. But Ty and I had been writing for at least a year or more before anyone else had ever entered the frame – the majority of ‘Fantastic Playground’ had already been written and recorded with just us.”

NYPC is coming to a record store near you on Friday, 11th October.
