Placebo Will Host Their Own ‘Television’ Show: ‘Loud Like Love TV’

UK alt-rock giants Placebo will try their hands at TV hosting when they go to air for what they’ve titled Loud Like Love TV. To celebrate their upcoming seventh studio album Loud Like Love, the band have paired up with YouTube and Google to bring their online extravaganza to air.

Taking place on the eve of the album release, 8:00pm GMT Monday, 16th September, Loud Like Love TV will be a 90-minute long live stream, broadcast from YouTube Space London and will feature all three members of the band, with special guest presenters, new and exclusive content, interviews with the band and the collaborators behind the new album and feature live performances of material from the record, behind-the-scenes footage, and fan competitions.

According to the band’s official website, fans will also have plenty of opportunities to interact with the band via their social media channels and three lucky fans will be selected to ask the band a question using Google Hangout. The event will mark the first time a band has ever produced, curated, and streamed a global live TV show.

Loud Like Love TV will also certainly whet the appetites of Aussie fans who are counting the sleeps till the band’s appearance as one of the headliners at Soundwave 2014. Music Feeds recently spoke to drummer Steve Forrest about Soundwave, the new album and their current tour, who gave Aussie punters plenty to be excited about.
