Arctic Monkeys Cover Drake’s ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’

Arctic Monkeys have been experimenting with their sound lately and they’ve not showing any signs of slowing down, choosing to cover Canadian rapper Drake‘s sappy megahit Hold On, We’re Going Home for their recent BBC Live Lounge session.

The Sheffield quartet put their very distinctive spin on the single, making it almost sound like a cut from their latest record, the super slinky AM. The vocals are just as smooth as you’d expect from frontman Alex Turner, with the indie kings turning the R&B number into a delightfully ’70s inspired slice of funk.

Arctic Monkeys were recently on the receiving end of the cover treatment at Live Lounge, with collaborator Josh Homme having his Queens Of The Stone Age perform their version of the former’s single Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?
