Oasis Shoot Down ‘Definitely Maybe’ Anniversary Reunion Rumours

And just like that, one of the most credible Oasis reunion rumours so far has been put to rest. Habitual wet blanket of the situation, Noel Gallagher, has addressed the topic vicariously through his PR team who have responded to the rumour by stating “its not true”.

Everyone’s hopes were raised yesterday after a source told The Daily Mail that promoters had been tripping over themselves in an attempt to snag the Gallagher bros and co for a reunion tour next year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe.

Coupled with talk of Liam Gallagher going through a very costly divorce and you had yourself a rumour that came together very nicely… We should have suspected something immediately.

The source revealed some very specific information, including that the band would play Definitely Maybe from start to finish at a concert in Knebworth, the site of Oasis’ watershed, record-breaking concerts back in 1996.

While Mr No will jump at any opportunity to nix suggestions of an Oasis tour, Liam seems to be far more understanding, telling NME back in June that he was open to the idea as the band still had “unfinished business”, suggesting he and his brother “bury the hatchet for a quick lap of honour” at some point in the future.
