Stone Temple Pilots Release New Track ‘Black Heart’

Stone Temple Pilots are putting their epic legal dramas to one side and letting their new music speak for itself, with the ’90s alt rock stalwarts – along with new singer Chester Bennington of Linkin Park fame – unveiling another single for your listening pleasure, Black Heart.

The track is taken from the outfit’s upcoming High Rise EP, scheduled for Aussie release on Friday, 11th October, and Black Heart falls nicely in place next to first single Out Of Time. It’s a simple, catchy three minutes worth of rock ‘n’ roll with almost a country flavour to it. Does it stand up next to their old stuff? The jury’s still out on that one but you gotta give credit to the guys for forging onwards in the face of drama.

In case you’ve been living under a rock or you’ve been in Antarctica or something this year, Stone Temple Pilots kicked longtime frontman Scott Weiland out of the band back in February and replaced him with Bennington. It’s been nothing but a tangle of lawsuits and counter lawsuits since, but STP ain’t showing signs of slowing down, bringing both the show and their new singer to play Soundwave 2014 next February and March.
