Gucci Mane Admits Drug Abuse, “100% Regrets” Twitter Rant

It’s been a couple of weeks since hip hop don Gucci Mane unleashed upon his peers and associates – including his own Brick Squad, Nicki Minaj, Drake and others – via an aggressive and poorly formatted Twitter rant.

Mane has now come clean, telling the world that he has been battling addiction and that he is both “embarrassed” and “ashamed” of his actions. He checked in via Twitter once again, informing fans that he is currently incarcerated following his arrest on concealed weapon and weed possession charges, but is apparently in hospital as a precaution and will soon be entering rehab.

Mane took the time to express his need to “man up right now”, apologising to those caught in the fallout of his online behaviour and drug addiction including his family, friends, the “industry” and fans. He also specifically apologised to Birdman, Rick Ross and Drake, saying, “Dem my ni**as.”

He followed up with an eye-opening account of his battle with addiction. Alcohol was the first item discussed, with Mane explaining that booze had “destroyed” him.

The next issue addressed was associated with the oft rapped about “lean”, a drink mixing cough syrup containing codeine and promethazine with soft drink also referred to as “sizzurp” or “purple drank”.

Mane explained the drink had a serious impact on him, saying, “I can barely remember all the things I’ve done & said. However there’s no excuse.”

The situation has apparently inspired some creativity from the rapper, who has penned some new tunes with the spare time on his hands.

If you missed all the hubbub following the initial Twitter rant, you’re probably reading this thinking “err…WTF”, so let’s backtrack. First he announced his departure from his own rap collective Brick Squad, in retaliation to claims he paid the legal fees for Young Vito during his murder trial over Brick Squad act Slim Dunkin, according to FACT MAG:

“I cant rep Bricksquad. Every artist I bought a bricksquad chain. Let a nigga rob them for it. Every chain. Pitiful fux bricksquad” before opening fire on remaining members including Waka Flocka Flame, Tyga and Chief Keef.

From there, he set his sights on Drake, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz and other rappers, as well as “Craig n Julia” from Atlantic Records:

It didn’t take long for those mentioned to submit their retorts, with everyone playing down Mane’s remarks. Minaj went as far as to say, “Jesus, strike me dead right now if I ever had sex with this animal.”

Some of those mentioned even went as far as to upload proof that Mane had recently put his hand up for guest features on new material but was declined.

What’s making our job pretty damn difficult is that almost all traces of that rant have since been removed. Mane’s publicity team is obviously very effective. Though we assure you, it really did happen.
