New Zealand songstress Kimbra has taken to Instagram to express elation at working with At The Drive-In and Mars Volta mastermind Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. The ARIA Award-winner has labeled Rodriguez-Lopez a major influence.
Kimbra posted several images of herself in the studio with Rodriguez-Lopez, with incredulous messages such as “In the studio with the one & only Omar Rodriguez Lopez. This actually happened. Wow.” The Kiwi singer stated the collab was a “massive moment for me.”
The two were apparently working on material for a future Kimbra release, the singer stating “Never thought I’d get to sit & comp up guitars by Omar Rodriguez Lopez on my song.” Earlier this year, Music Feeds reported of her plans to work with Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman.
